World Sickle Cell Day 2020

On June 19, 2009 the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution recognizing Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) as a public health problem.

Every year on June 19 the world comes together to raise public awareness about SCD in order to educate and help improve the quality of life for people living with this disease and to develop strategies to save the lives of every child with SCD, regardless of where they are born.

The Global Sickle Cell Disease Network has put together a list of global activities that will be taking place leading up to and on the the day of June 19, 2020.  If you would like your event included on the calendar below please email contact.gscdn@sickkids.ca
